Slaughter and May advised London Resort Company Holdings Limited (LRCH) on a Development Agreement with BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, under which LRCH and BBC Worldwide will work together to develop some of the BBC's best loved brands for inclusion at the planned multi-billion pound London Paramount Entertainment Resort. The Development Agreement is the first step towards a formal partnership between LRCH and the BBC which will see BBC's intellectual property feature at the resort alongside intellectual property from leading Hollywood studio, Paramount Pictures.
London Paramount Entertainment Resort is scheduled to open in Kent in 2020 and is expected to attract up to 15 million visitors a year. LRCH already has a separate agreement in place with Paramount Pictures which will allow the resort to access over 3000 films (including iconic titles such as Mission Impossible, Star Trek, The Godfather and The Italian Job).
